    filtration of electrolyte solution

Has anyone ever tried to filter out the rust particles that form? I was thinking of taking a piece of 2 inch pvc pipe; stuffing it full of cotten; placing the pip inline with my water pump and pumping the electrolyte solution through before it enters my small radiator. I am pretty sure it would work, but not sure if it would effect the reaction of the generator.

Hmmm cotton in pipe may block the pipe when it gets a bit saturated and create a backpressure. Maybe try it with an inline petrol filter first, or, as you say make a filter with 2" pipe but use a fine mesh SS coffee filter. Remember to check it regularly as you dont want to burn out your pump motor! All the best.

I realized my rust was coming from the non stainless steel componets in my rig. No need to filter now
