    Vinegar????

Has anyone used distilled vinegar in their generator? If so does it have any bad side effects to the plates, generator, engine? I've seen where people have been using it on the web and it seems to be working for them. Just wondering. I do have KOH coming in the mail, but vinegar is cheaper and less harmful the skin and clothes.

I've done a bunch of trials with distilled white vinegar (5%) and found that its a fairly weak electrolyte, although you could add more acetic acid to increase amp draw.

The acid gets used up and leaves behind a brown sludge which must be cleaned out periodically.

To summarise, if you have low output needs and don't mind a flush every now and then, it may be the thing for you if you want to avoid the caustic catalysts.
