Propane and natural gas vs. hydroxy

How do they compare? If a motor uses 221cu.-ft./hr. of propane, how much hydroxy gas would be required? The same motor also says it uses 6.07 gph. of propane. This I don't understand either. THANKS.

6.07 gallons per hour for propane converts to 23.005300000000002 liters of propane per hour. So, not sure how Hydrogen is compared. But with the mix of both O2 and H2 in the mix, you are looking at way more. Think about it this way. 2 H and 1 O. so you only have 2/3 of what ever the flow rate you are getting to start out with. You need pure Hydrogen to make it work first of all. Then you need to see what the effectiveness is of Hydrogen vs Propane for burn.

Say if propane and Hydrogen burned the same way, then from my calculations, you would need approx. 34.5LPM of Hydrogen. That is a lot of output from a generator. probably fill the bed of a 1 ton. Hehe.

Propane expands aprox 270 times from liquid to vapour so 6.07 gals of liquid propane is around the 221 cu ft for the gas . (I get 219 cu ft but close enough the 270 figure is rough)

This converts to 104.25 Litres of propane per minute
Propane has energy of 93kJ/l so this is 9697.6 kJ/Min

To get the same energy from hydrogen at 10.7 kJ / litre would need 906 litres of hydrogen a minute or about 1360 litre of HHO per minute.

i read somewhere it takes 3 times as much hydrogen compared to propane. this may be wrong but like i said i read it somewhere so it has to be true. Right?

nice, Forgot Propane was being put out in liquid. was thinking Gas. hehe Thanks for the correction. Math was a bit off.
