Could anyone recommend a good sealant to use around the generator fittings. When using NAOH, I understand that silicone based sealants will deteriorate quickly.

The Goop Marine sealant or the 3M Marine sealant both work pretty well. It is what ZeroFossilFuel uses in his video series on youtube.

after 20 minutes, it will be like a rock and stay like a rock for the rest of your life. if you need to remove it, forget about it. :)
specs :
hardness : Shore D 82-85
compression strenght : 900Kg/cm2
Tensile strenght : 85Kg/cm2
Temperature Resistant : -40ºC / +120ºC
it's the best thing i found, and for now, i don't want to use anything else :)
