I made a HHO generator and got about a 15% gas saving but the unit seemed to degrade with time. Is there any solution to this problem?

Of course there is, but since you have told us absolutely nothing about your system, type of engine, year of manufacture, absence or presence of electronic controls, type of electrolyte and reactor, we probably won't be able to help you, sorry.;)
