Hi all,

What is the main reason in using distilled water instead of tap water?

Is it because the chlorine (2-3 ppm) in the tap water can corrode the SS plates over time?

Or because the chlorine could cause damage to the engine if it gets past the bubbler?

Just trying to find what are the risks here.

Thanks a lot,

The big question is not so much about the chlorine, but what else is in your tap water... I know that some states add Florine and other stuff... what does any of it do during the burning process inside your cylinders. This is the reason I stick with distilled water and add my own electrolyte. This way I know exactly what is burning in the engine.

Keeps the electrolyte solution more pure and makes your results more duplicatable by others. Since everyone's tap water is different, everyone may have different results when using various additives.

Not to mention chlorine gas that can be created here....
