a Newbie with lots of questions

I am just starting out, and have some specific questions:
1) is there a ratio of plate size to plate spacing?
2) what is the recommended plate spacing?
3) Can a frequency "sweet spot" be calculated mathmatically?
4) How do I caculate the correct # of holes in the plate?

Also, is anyone currently doing any testing on a 49CC or 110CC engine?
