Do you all think this media blaster will work for doing plates? What is the best grit and type of media to use? I have never done this before and was also wondering if there was a special technique to use that works best?

Yes, it will be just fine.. On a different note, never do a straight copy/paste from a website to a post.. Use an intermediate step (Word, Paint, Powerpoint, etc) to make sure your stuff looks right before you commit...;):D
