Ni,

There are black residues on the reservoir walls and on the suface of the electrolytes in the reservoir.

However, the electrolyte seems clean but a slight yellowish

The distilled water in the bubbler is clean

Do I have a problem or is this normal at the start of a new reactor (only 250 km) ?

Last question, when the electrolyte level down in my tank, I might add only distilled water or a mixture of my electrolyte?

Thanks in advance
Your help is appreciate

This is normal to start with and you need to drain the system clean out your tank. Passivated plates have less of this. You would have had a lot more color yellow/green and black if the plates had not been passivated. You can run the electrolyte through a coffee filter and use it again. I usually let a unit run for at least 5 days on the bench before putting it in a vehicle. The black is magnetic and can be trapped by a magnetic filter. I use ring magnets on a removable section of the return line that has a valve on either end and quick connectors. All of this gets less and less by use and at some point you should change the electrolyte completely and it should stay clear.

Just add water. After doing this many times you will need to check the specific gravity of the electrolyte and make a small adjustment by adding a very little electrolyte. Some does escape into the bubbler but it should be very little but over time adds up. You can buy a specific gravity bulb at the local wine making supply store or use one made for checking batteries. They are quite cheap.
