i've heard recently that placing an extra neutal plate outside the outermost drivers seems to aid cooling. why?

Maybe, but why would you need that if the reactor is built right there is no unwanted heat. Some heat is necessary and beneficial. It is the excess heat of a poorly designed reactor that causes the problem.

It is also said that high heat reactors make para-hydrogen, while low heat reactors produce ortho-hydrogen, the preferred hydrogen, and that is what we want.

Excellent post Kimbo. Bio I sent you a patent that deals with this too. The temperature is extreme to make any significant difference though. The use of magnets to change the spin that is what is important. A cooler running reactor to a point is always better but there is a point where it becomes inefficient the cooler it gets and also the opposite the hotter it gets. There is an optimum or ideal temperature for a reactor and varies because of a number of variables and so is different for almost every reactor. Even things like altitude effect it.

It was in George Wiseman's book on browns gas forgot if it's his 1st or 2nd book. I believe it was also mentioned by Boyce.
