Hello every one just joinded this site I have a question. Going to build a dry cell found a place to get SS 6x6 plates ss 316L 8 of them for about 35.00 + fright comes to about 55.00 all together . But the plastic is high for two pc 12x12 x 3/4 at 40.00 ea + frieght. Can a person use cutting borad at 1/2 thick and dose it work ok. Just hate to spend over a 100.00 on the end pc.
Dobbs quite a few of us have used cutting boards from Walmart at one time or another and I can't recall any problems using them.Have you looked in the phone book under "plastics" yet?That's where I got mine.
IMO 3/4" is a little overkill,my dry cell had 6"x9" plates and I used 1/2" and never had any issues with it.
You can try this site:http://freckleface.com/shopsite_sc/store/html/product535.html.They have 1/2" x 12"x12" for about $8 and if you prefer to use 3/4" that will run yoiu about $12.50.
