Is there a consensus on this water vapor injection theory?
Does anyone here do this and do you see gains?

see this thread, the theory makes sense.

Yes a few folks here have seen gains by injecting Water Vapor. There are a few different reasons to do WV, and a few different ways to do it. Painless/Steveo has a long thread in the Other Technology ( new ideas http://www.hhoforums.com/showthread.php?t=1673) sections. I have done some testing with a couple of types of WV, and for my purpose of increasing MPG, i like very Hot steam.

Ideally, I would like to inject it at the base of the intake manifold close to the fuel injector. And ideally have it super heated (under pressure above boiling temp) But i have only tested it in a GEET like fashion.

I believe steam being super fine water reacts with gasoline, In that it "spreads" it to be burned faster or vaporize the fuel better. Like when you drip a drop of gas into a bucket of water It spread faster. The extra heat aids the vaporization also. Ive read that some believe that at 400 plus degrees the hydrocarbons in gasoline can split or crack into simpler gases that burn faster / better.

Ive done enough tests for myself that prove to me that this is the case, but really i should do more testing to say this is fact or not. So for now this is basically just my opinion.
