Dry Cell Problems

Hey guys,
I built a dry cell just to see how it would work using 4"x8" stainless steel plates with 1/16" gasket material. Initially, it seemed to work quite well, although I didn't get to measure the output. I didn't run it very much, although over just a couple days production dropped significantly and continued to until it didn't really produce anything anymore. I took it apart to clean off the plates, but it didn't really help. Has anyone else had any problems like this?

We're going to need a lot more info: type of electrolyte & percentage, amp. draw, power source, etc.. The more information you post, the more feedback you'll be able to get.

Lots of people in here are willing to help, but the particulars are a necessity.
