Well.. Basically i have a 21 plate 4x6 Dry cell Wired in 4N 4
Ever since i started playing with this dry cell i have had a issue with electrolyte/power.
i have tried the 26% solution of KoH, and did about 3 LPM at 70:eek: amps.. diluted it 50% and got about the same at around 60 amps... still too high.
So i diluted it more, and more and my cell still runs at 45-50 amps and heats up like crazy and still only doing about 2 LPM..

i want to get my 3 LPM or More if i can without running my cell for an hour before its cooking hot and it running at 70-60 amps!

Im just not sure what to do now.. Followed lots of tips, and i still watch people Pump out gas at lower amperages

Any tips/tricks would be greatly appreciated:)

So, are you concerned about the high current, or the low efficiency? You said that you diluted your electrolyte, and it did draw less current, but the gas output was the same(?). If that's the case, try moving in that direction more, except don't just reduce the electrolyte - add a good constant current PWM. Zero Fossil Fuel and Shane Jackson make a type of PWM that simply keeps a constant average current through the cell, regardless of temperature. However, if you want to go for real efficiency, you can try using a PWM that creates a real constant current/adjustable voltage output for highest efficiency.

Oh wait, mine's the only one that does that..... *grin*

(Not sure about how much you know about all this stuff yet, but a PWM is a device that rapidly turns the power applied to the cell on and off. It's like turning a light switch on and off REALLY fast in order to adjust the brightness. To adjust the brightness of the light, you would adjust the amount of time the light spends in the on position, vs. how much time it spends in the off position. The same applies to electrolysis, but in a slightly different way which is beyond the scope of a simple explaination for now)

LOL Phill! I don't know if a beginner would be ready for your Hulk PWM!!
Unless, of course, he's a purple-dressed Pimp!
WTF's up with Helz????????????

Yes when i diluted my 28% mixture down 50% the first hit it dropped 10 amps, But After 10 mins the cell is hot and after an hour i feel like i loose alot of my e-lyte to steam,
I pulled my cell apart today and im going to change my gas outlets to 3/8, recondition my plates, and Try the 5N 3 configuration again! that everyone seems to say is so beastly.

Also, PWM is out of the question, to much money to fork out the window for one

That would be a pretty good solution to your problem though. I think if you looked out for a simple version on the web, you'd be able to make one pretty cheaply. That, or just keep diluting your electrolyte... Good luck.

Cheers,

This one is not constant current, but way better than none at all. Price seems reasonable -- less than a tank full of gasoline.
