has anyone else considered mounting the system on the roof and running the output tube down the post next to the winshield into the aircleaner? seams to me it would get max air flow keeping the unit cool.

Yes it would definatly allow air to pass by it... but cooling it this way would be not the greatest. it would be much better to use a heat exchanger(radiator of some type) and physically cool the electrolite this way. I'm working on a cheap heat exchanger to cool the unit...

I see some problems with putting the cell on the roof.

1. Refilling the cell could be a problem.
2. If you using a chemical in the electrolyte you could damage the paint.
3. With the current a cell pulls you want your wiring as short as possible.
4. Weather corrosion on the electrical connections.
5. Hitting a bird @ 70mph could take the cell off the roof

IMO I wouldn't want a Pizza Delivery sign on top of my truck.

But then again what ever floats your boat. --

You can disguise the electrolyzer by painting your car yellow and black and putting some bit of advertisement on the rooftop contraption for your HHO research website or something...:D

I would think the drag caused by having it on the roof would negate any gains on fuel economy.

Maybe he could put a sail on the roof and have a wind/HHO powered car! Now THAT is environmentally safe....except for powerlines I guess. :D
