View Full Version : Dry Cell Reservoir Ports

I thought I would break down and buy a reservoir but almost all the ones I find have the cell gas port below the fluid level. Top port gas to bubbler, bottom port to bottom port on Dry Cell. Third port slightly higher than bottom port for Dry Cell output. From my experience this puts higher back pressure on the output lowering the fluid level in the cell thus reducing the current and gas output for a given elyte concentration.
I would think that the gas port should be above the fluid level as gas will compress easier and provide less back pressure. My third port is about 1" lower than top port.
I guess I could buy one with no ports and put in my own but would rather buy one that has been pressure tested. Also was wondering how others have their cells setup.
Thanks
