CPU providing heat to run a stirling engine that runs a fan to cool the heatsink... Rather cool is it not?

Now if you could do the same in your car, for the fan,that should save you MPG. Less load on the ICE

Also why could you not use the same idea to use the wasted heat in your engine to drive a alternator, and take that load off the engine?

I believe that some have already looked into a simplified approach to this, using a peltier device to turn exhaust heat into electricity.

Doesn't it have to be started or spinned by hand. I don't believe that it will start itself, depending on where it's stopped in its cycle.
