"Is the KOH consumed when it eats the Aluminum?

IOW Do you need to replenish the KOH as Aluminum is added?

Yes, and you need to cool the reaction, too. It will accelerate until
it makes steam as well as gas. "

My decision is to use a piece of aluminum in both bubblers. (not reservoir)

Bubbler #1 will be to indicate that it is getting too high in ph and to reduce the KOH as it begins to dissolve the Aluminum.

Bubbler #2 to show that if any action exists, change the water immediately.
