please can someones check this math

I'm trying to work out my cell % gain

remember I'm in the UK 1 Gallon = 4.5 Ltrs

i need MPG for running on HHO
miles run= 145. Ltrs used= 12Ltrs
ltrs to gallons = 12/4.5= 2.66gallon
mpg= miles run/gallon used
= 145/2.66=54.5Mpg

i need MPG for running on Diesel
miles run= 153. Ltrs used= 14.3Ltrs
ltrs to gallons = 14.3/4.5= 3.17gallon
mpg= miles run/gallon used
= 153/3.17=48.2Mpg

so to work out % gain

54.5Mpg - 48.2Mpg = 6.3/48.2 x 100 = 13.07% gain over base

this is a dry cell configured -NNNNN+NNNNN-
active plate area = 5X5 inch
plate gap 1.5MM compressed rubber gaskets
running voltage 13.9 to 14.2 Cars voltage is not stable due to varying electrical loads
cell amps set to 15Amp cold
maximum cell temp seen 38C
maximum cell Amp seen 20Amp

car details
3 door Peugeot 106 1999
1.5ltr non turbo diesel Bosch indirect injection system
HHO is injected into the air intake before the air filter

haven't done a LPM test as i had to cut short the HHO mpg as its got cold here and froze my bubbler

Cully,

Also keep in mind that a US gallon is smaller than a metric gallon.

yes painless

thats why i stated

UK 1 Gallon = 4.5 Ltrs

but does the math look right or am i doing the calc wrong?

Just double checked it... math looks good to me!

13% gain! Not bad for the first attempt!

Congrats!

A suggestion, inject your HHO after the air filter as close to the turbo as you can get it, you will probably see more improvement.

You do realise that you can figure out gain without converting to MPG... and with less error.

Stick to miles per litre.

145 miles divided by 12 L = 12.08 MPL

153 miles divided by 14.3 L = 10.7 MPL

12.08 - 10.7 = 1.38 / 10.7 = .129 X 100 = 12.9% increase.

Still not bad.

Russ i cant get it no closer to the turbo as the car has not got one ;)

you say not bad for a first attempt...
its my 3rd cell but bench testing shut down the other 2,
this 3rd one is the first cell i have road tested.
its all mounted in a cut off 25ltr drum in the pasengers footwell
now i know there is good gains to have i will be looking at a perminant install point, it looks as if it might have to go in the trunk

Well, if there's no turbo then plumb it into the air plenum right up to the throttle body.
