Go to this link: http://www.tegpower.com/products.html

Scroll down to find the video of the guy clamping this unit to the exhaust pipe and getting 12.5 volts. Also in the comments, he says he got over 20 amps.

The product is expensive and, of course, like all of us, I would rather build one myself.

Does anyone know how to make something like this?

On ebay,Do a search for thermoelectric. I just ordered one rated at 545 watts and plan on doing some experimenting with it.

Keep in mind that not all peltiers are created equal. Most of the ones used to cool CPU's are low wattage versions. If you exceed the wattage on a peltier it will self destruct.

Hi Guys,
You should not use peltier modules for power generation. They simply are not designed for high heat. The solder used to make them will melt and you will destroy the module. If you go to www.thermoelectric-generator.com they have modules for both high and low temperatures power generation. They will also answer your emails or phone calls and explain any questions they you may have. They have been in the industry for over 20 years.
