Do wave patterns make any difference? I know DC seems to be the best, but just wondering. I have a box that can change between a few diffrent wave types.

No one? not a guess?

No one? not a guess?

If I had to make a guess, I would say a square wave. A cell is basically a capacitor. A capacitor does not like for the voltage across it to change and will either absorb electrical charge or supply stored charge in order to maintain a constant voltage across it. A square wave trys to force a maximum change in voltage, in a minimum time (the rise time or fall time of the edges of the square wave). When the voltage across the cell is changing, the current is forced to flow between the plates.
As I said, just a guess based on my background as an electrical engineer.

If I get a chance I'll be able to test it I think.
