I'm just wondering how many have had to replace your plates, and what does a worn out plate look like?


Just trying to get an idea how long plates are lasting. 316 vs ...

What the L stand for in 316L?

The "L" stands for "Low Carbon". I would assume that spent plates become quite pitted and may discolored as well. I really don't know as my 316L plates are still working just as good (or better) than the day I began using them.

316L Stainless... 3 months and counting... No visible plate damage. NaOH.

Over a year now and the only thing I've noticed is browning on some of the plates when I disassembled it twice to inspect.No pitting and no sign of wear using koh.
