View Full Version : Does voltage split when using two negatives

I was wondering if you use a configuration like -nn+nn- does the voltage split . Like 13.8 volts going in does it split with 6.9 volts going each way to the negatives ?

No. Voltage remains the same, but the current is divided between the two circuits.

I think series/parallel discribes your configuration best. In parallel voltage stays the same because electrically all positives are the same point and all negatives are electrically the same point. In series you have a voltage divider each of equal load. Wish I could do a better job of discribing this. I have a hard time with this also because I've read that every two plates is a cell. That would make +NNNN- one unit in parrellel with -NNNN+ and each of those units would have 5 cells or spaces in between the plates. I may be wrong but this is what I am understanding. Hope it helps.
