Closest spacing?

What was the closest spacing that produced high MMW?

So far I have used 0.040" in the Amoeba Cell and its efficiency and
output is excellent.

Has anyone tried 0.025"

I am thinking of going that close.

I'm using .010" spacing and getting 2lpm @ 30 amps

I calculate 4.76 MMW.

What cell design?

With graphite you can go down to .015".

So closer spacing = higher MMW ???

Cell electricity must travel through the electrolyte to reach the plates in order to produce gas.

The electrolyte conducts electricity but not as well as steel.

Heat is generated by current and resistance.

The shorter the distance through the electrolyte (spacing), the lower the R (resistance).

Hence, without consideration of anything else, the closer the spacing the better.

OTOH Close spacings are difficult to make especially with this plates that can warp and short to each other.

Another consideration for some is the belief that bubbles get trapped inside these narrow cells. I do not believe it.

I hope that this helps.

I am going down from 0.040" to 0.025"

Yeah very helpful. I'll be changing my 0.125 to .40 or maybe even try 0.25 and do some more testing.

Where are you going to get 0.25 at?

I don't know how small the gap is between my plates but it is exactly the thickness of a zip tie as seen in my photos. I do agree that the closer the plates are together the more HHO is produced. I do agreed that it is because the electricity does not have to travel so far. In fact, the electricity is almost arcing if you get much closer.

I use 2" washers 11@ +-+-+-+-+-+ Look up the " randy cell" at the Hydrogen Generator forum. Its an awesome cell, small too. You need three in one container to keep the heat down and the washers vertical will give you 30% more production than horizontal.
