Can anyone recommend an inexpensive EGT gauge setup? The ones I've seen are 3 bills.

thanks,
Ian

To read in cab or out?

This one seems a little more reasonable:

Looking for a probe in the exhaust manifold and a gauge in cab. Something to use with an EFIE to tell when I've leaned the engine out enough without going too far. Seems that without something to gauge how lean you have it, you're just guessing and I can't be guessing when I am experimenting with my main transportation.

I wanted to find a source for everything before I plunked down cash for the pelican case and real 316 plates. I was hoping the acetone would give me 3 or 4 mpg so I wouldn't have to mess with the HHO... no such luck.

I'll go look at Painless' link. Thanks

Ian

Haywire,
That looks pretty good to me, I have also been looking for a guage and probe. I think that I like the 60mm, a little more pricey but way less than 300.

have you tried harbor freight. i got an amp guage a pressure guage and a temp guage all for $18. the temp guage has a probe with about a 7 or 8 ft wire. they are not electronic though im not exactly sure what you mean by EGT

Exhaust temperature gauge. some people use them for monitoring how hot the exhaust is too notice if the motor is running to lean or too rich. A wideband o2 is a much better tool but it is about 150 plus. it tells the specific Air to fuel ratio to the point 1.

EGT is Exhaust Gas Temperature, it's useful for making sure you aren't over leaning your engine and causing damage by higher combustion temps.

urs come with a engine coolant gauge -

EGT = Exaust Gas Temp
