View Full Version : Does my car need a map sensor MAP/MAF Sensor Enhancer

I have a 91 honda accord lx and I was wondering if I need to put in a MAP/MAF Sensor Enhancer to work well with the hho cell?

As far as I can tell your car has a map sensor. I use a map sensor enhancer on my 2002 honda accord lx. so far I haven't had to use a efie on my o2 sensor. map senor enhancer is easy and cheap to make.

I guess what I'm saying is do I need a map sensor enhancer for my car? Or is it fine just leave it how it is?

you need one. you wont get any benefit without something to fool the ecu.
In fact you will get worse mpg because the ecu will think you are running lean and adjust with more gas :eek:. I've seen it with mine as a matter of fact. The wife turned off the enhancer and wondered why her mpg's went to shit :confused:. I had to explain for the 10th time :rolleyes: why it needs to be on.

parts wise, you can get all you need to make one at radioshack for less than $15 single, I made a dual (1 setting for city and 1 for hwy) there is another thread that has someone that makes them for $40. but his site is down
