are there any house hold items ppl might have lying around the house that might be usefull for electrolysis. for example if you have an extra microwave is there any thing inside that might be usefull. or a broken big screen, or any thing like that

if you have a extra computer power supply it can be used as a power source some can take 30 amps at 12v.

i found the computer power supply wasn't man enough i blew out my 500w psu running it at a constant 20 amps. i am now in the throws of winding a microwave transformer to give me 13.8V @ 100Amps. but to do this i have had to cut out the secondary winding and rewind it with 20 turns of 4mm cable, doing this the transformer should produce around 166Amps AC.
so i am limiting it by the fact the biggest bridge rectifier i can find is 100Amps @ 36v.

be warned my system in the UK is 230volts AC so the number of turns to get 13.8v in the US will be different as your system is 110AC i believe
