I've updated my webpage with pictures of how I used my FUMAFUMA plates with the abs plastic in the oven. The oven sure won't make them pretty, but they are plenty strong and function is the key.
My abs plastic welder does a better job on the looks, but is just as solid as the oven. Check out the webpage:
