Rusty looking sediment

Hello,

I am useing a magedrive 11a brick, with sodium hydroxyide.
Gas production is good , but after a week I get a nasty looking sediment in the electrolyte and when I contain the liquid it all settles to the bottom of the container in a layer, but the top layer stays yellowish clear.

Is that common and what is the sediment.

check all your plates and hardware inside for corrotion. I dont know any thing about the magedrive but if everything is not stainless steel or better material it will corrode. Are you using distilled water? could have contaminants in it.
