Malfunctioning 02 Sensor

Is there a way to make an 02 sensor "malfunction" and go into default mode. This would eleminate the need to install an EFIE or something of that sort.

I was thinking about covering the tip in high temp rtv silicone, then putting on some 02 extenders to help keep it out of the heat of direct of exhaust.

Any opinions?

If the sensor malfunctions the computer will go into default.You won't achieve your goal if it goes into default.

I meant to put the default setting part into the post. If you have an older vehicle like mine your default air to fuel ratio should be less than the one it currently uses. But I could be wrong
